Musician and actress Simphiwe Ngema has landed a role in Showmax’s The Winning Ticket.

SIMPHIWE NGEMA: LATEST ROLE
Sunday World reports that the former Muvhango star Simphiwe Ngema portrays the lead role of Zanele on a Showmax film, The Winning Ticket.

Ngema describes Zanele as someone who loves her family, is hardworking, and believes in doing things right.

“It is very interesting to see Zanele transition from being a driven girl with dreams. She eventually obtains the money to fulfil those dreams. But then loses sight of what’s truly important.”

She adds that working with Lerato Makhetha as her husband was fun because he is a friend of hers outside the industry.

“We met when we were shooting Isidingo in 2018. So, I felt comfortable, and there was chemistry between us. He is a great guy.

Makhetha portrayed the role of Ntando Sibeko in Isidingo, while Ngema played Phindile.

MORE STARS JOIN ‘THE WINNING TICKET’

Actors Lerato Makhetha and Simphiwe Ngema co-star as the happily married couple, while The River actress Tinah Mnumzama plays their guardian angel.

The film also stars Smoke and Mirrors and Isibaya star Amina Jack and Quinton Madlala play their kids.

The film is written by Caroline Kganyago from The River and Goodbye Gogo and is produced by Kerry Media Productions with Star Mphahlele as director.

Mphahlele won the African Rising Star award at the 2023 Joburg Film Festival.
