Khune reacts to Minnie Dlamini shady ‘apology’?

Kaizer Chiefs player Itumeleng Khune has been trolled over the years for many things, from his age to his “phuza face” to his spelling abilities. His relationship with Minnie Dlamini – and the rumour of his “R1 million lobola” – has also made headlines.

Over the weekend, Minnie joined in by poking fun at her ex-boyfriend in the Showmax Roast, which premiered on Friday, 26 April.

The soccer star was among several names who caught strays by the celebrity panel, which included the likes of Lasizwe Dambuza, Celeste Ntuli, Robert Marawa, and Trevor Gumbi. Joining them as hosts – or roastmasters – were comedians Tumi Morake and Jason Goliath.

KHUNE REACTS TO MINNIE DLAMINI ‘APOLOGY’
During her address to the panel of celebrities and roastmasters, Minnie Dlamini finally addressed that viral TV moment where she was accused of shading her ex-boyfriend.

Late last year, Minnie mocked Itumeleng Khune in an episode of her TV show Curated By Tanqueray. In a clip, she said of her ex: “No man, Khune doesn’t still play.”

When a crew member claimed that the famous star played as recently as the latest Soweto Derby, she added with much shock: “He STILL plays?.”

Speaking in her Roast, Minnie said of her faux pas: “I made a joke about Khune last year, and I got into a lot of trouble. A lot of people were really upset.”

But instead of a heartfelt apology, Minnie attempted to mock Khune again by revisiting a clip of him misspelling the word “apologise.”

In an Instagram Story over the weekend, Khune reposted a clip of his spelling faux pas, sharing: “Haai mara.”

DID HE REALLY PAY R1 MILLION IN LOBOLA?
In an interview with DJ Fresh on his YouTube podcast last year, “WAW! What A Week!”, Minnie Dlamini debunked the rumour of Itumeleng Khune’s R1 million offer.

She said: “The worst misconception is that Khune lobola’ed me. That’s the worst one, I hate it, I hate it! People still think it’s true. I actually went on a date, and this person actually thought it was real. I was like, no, the relationship wasn’t that hectic.”

Minnie dated Khune from 2011 -2014 and were even rumoured to be engaged.

The TV star later dated Quinton Jones, whom she wed in 2017. Khune would go on to date Sbahle Mpisane and later Sphelele Mkhunga, for whom he paid lobola in 2019. Itu and Sphelele – who have two children together – tied the knot in a traditional ceremony last year.
