Jafta from Rhythm City: Where is Sandile Dlamini now?

Sandile Dlamini is a South African actor best known for his on-screen character of Jafta on e.tv drama series Rhythm City.

Rhythm City was a South African drama series produced by Quizzical Pictures. The drama series aired between 2007 and 2021. However, its cancellation shocked many since it was one of the most-watched drama series in South Africa.

The showrunners made it known that they needed new shows to revamp the channel’s programming.

WHERE IS HE NOW?
Sandile Dlamini wowed many with his unmatched flair, and he was that star actor we all love to hate. While on Rhythm City, he starred alongside some of South Africa’s finest.

He starred alongside Mduduzi Mabaso, best known for his on-screen character, Suffocate Ndlovu. However, the late Jamie Bartlett and Mncedisi Shanangu were also part of the star-studded cast of the drama series.

However, Sandile Dlamini hasn’t starred in several drama series since the canning of Rhythm City, leaving many trying to connect the dots about his whereabouts. After the drama series, several actors were left jobless, with a few joining other productions.

Sandile Dlamini joined the star-studded cast of The Black Door. He only appeared in season one of the drama series. In 2023, e.tv confirmed that The Black Door was going for a spin-off.


 

The drama series was replaced by Isitha – The Enemy through a spin-off.

Since then, Dlamini has yet to star in another big-budget drama series. However, Sandale Dlamini has not been active on social media. He last posted on X, formerly Twitter, in 2019.

CAREER

Sandile Dlamini started acting in the 90s and has starred in several theatre productions, including A Long Way To Go. The seasoned starred as Jobe in the theatre play. With a career spanning decades, he has starred in several small-screen productions, including the CCV sitcom Going Up.

However he is best known for his on-screen character of Jafta on Rhythm City.

WHAT HAPPENED TO THE STAR-STUDDED CAST OF RHYTHM CITY?
Award-winning actor Mduduzi Mabaso joined the Mzansi Magic drama series DiepCity after Rhythm City ended. On the other hand, Petronella Tshuma, who starred as Pearl, has managed to keep her private life under wraps after the canning of Rhythm City.

However, two lead actors, Jamie Bartlett and Mncedisi Shabangu, died. Mapula Molefe has since spread her wings into fashion and DJing. Kea Masango has been winning it big on small screens. She has starred in Ayeye Stripped and the Netflix series Blood & Water.
