‘I’ve cried’: Sipho Chaine finally opens up after his mother’s death

Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Sipho Chaine finally opened up after the death of her mother on 9 March.

It was a big day for soccer fans when Kaizer Chiefs clashed with Orlando Pirates. Unfortunately, not everything was okay for the Pirates shot-stopper who lost his mother on the day.


 

 

Rumourmill had that he played the game even after losing it, and fans had different opinions. Some hailed him for his courage, wishing his mother to rest well, while some thought he should have taken time off.

Since then, Chaine had been quite probably mourning his mother, trying to figure out a new life without her. When she finally spoke of her death, he left several soccer players and legends consoling him and his family.

“Strength to you and the fam, bro❤️🙏,” Sibusiso Mabiliso said.

WHAT SIPHO CHAINE SAY UPON HIS MOTHERS DEATH
Sharing on Instagram, Chaine revealed that it had been a tough few days since he lost his mother.

“A Thousand words won’t bring you back; I know because I’ve tried. And I know neither would a million tears because I’ve cried…” he started.

“I finally understand this quote. Ma, You’ve fought the good fight, finished the race, and kept the Faith. Finally, the crown of righteousness is laid up for you. Thank God for your life♥️ You’ve taught me JESUS, the Greatest gift. I will Hold on to Him to guide me as I navigate this new world without you, as I run my race to fulfil my purpose.” he continued.

“I’d like to thank my Family, Friends, Orlando Pirates Football Club and supporters for the massive outpouring of love during this period. Every message, every phone call and every post did not go unnoticed 🤍🙏🏾✨” he finished.

TOP SUPPORTER
Sipho Chaine’s mother was undoubtedly one of his top supporters, and she had shown it several times. Whether or not Sipho played well, she would always get onto the pitch, showing her son some love and fans loved it.

Most of the Orlando Pirates fans had been calling her mother to show how much she supported Chaine and the team.

“Amen and Amen, my Boy. It will be a roller coaster, but I know how that woman was proud of you. May her soft and kind soul Rest in perfect peace ❤” a fan named Christa Kgamphe-Jane responded.

CHAINE IN SENZO’S SHOES
Despite losing her mother, Sipho Chaine covered for the death of an Orlando Pirates legend in, Senzo Meyiwa. Since Senzo’s death, Pirates struggled to find a proper replacement they could believe in.

This was when Sipho came in and was impressed several times, leaving fans singing his name. His heroics during their penalty shootout win over Mamelodi Sundowns in the MTN8 final remains one of his greatest career games.

After the game, several Pirates fans claimed to have felt Senzo Meyiwa was back.
