Once known for their close-knit bond on the reality show Being Bonang, the two seem to have grown apart—something fans have long speculated about.
In a recent interview with Troy Malenge on Reason TV, Pinky Girl shared her side of the story, and while there’s been plenty of online chatter about a dramatic fallout, she insists the shift wasn’t as intense as it may seem.

“There’s nothing that happened,” she said calmly.
“I went through a lot of emotions in 2023. As people, we grow and take on different responsibilities—whether it’s with family, relationships, or friendships. You don’t have to judge or force things.”
“Families have differences,” she explained. “I was brought up in my own family, and my cousin was brought up in hers. Yes, we’re cousins—almost like sisters—but our backgrounds are different.”
Pinky also shared sweet memories from their childhood, when holidays brought them together in Rustenburg and Mafikeng.
“That’s how we built our relationship as cousins,” she said, remembering those moments fondly.
But as life moved forward, so did they. “Now we’ve grown up—she does her own thing, and I do mine. I have my own parents, and she has hers. So cousins are cousins—it’s not like we do everything together.”
In one of the most heartfelt parts of the conversation, Pinky didn’t hold back: “There’s no such thing as family—especially, you see it when you’re growing up. It’s not easy. People get busy, and you must remember your responsibility. We’ve got something different… whatever. And I don’t know.”

She also revealed that 2023 was a tough year personally, having lost her uncle, grandmother, and father, all within a short period.
These losses made it a deeply emotional time of growth and change.
Touching on the much-discussed visa issue that Bonang tweeted about, Pinky clarified that poor communication played a big role: “There was no communication that we will visa, so prepare a visa in the next one to two weeks.”
She added that the trip in question wasn’t sponsored, which only added to the confusion.
