“Having joined the Skeem Saam family has been amazing. It’s a different environment but it feels like home. I’m enjoying it.”

The publication adds that the actor will make his debut on Tuesday, 2 April as university student, Tobias. His character gets expelled and is forced to move to Turfloop after causing serious trouble in Johannesburg.

SABC reports that his character turns over a new leaf, starts attending Turfloop University and even gets a part time job.

Tinashe reports that his character might fall in love with Turf High learner, Ntswaki (Lethabo Mekoa). The teaser shows that it will be love at first sight when the duo meets at the Maputla residence for the first, where he delivers a parcel.

TVSA reports that Skeem Saam will mark Sicelo Buthelezi’s third TV role after his roles in Gomora and Now and Never.

Buthelezi portrayed the teenage character of Teddy in Gomora for four seasons in the Mzansi Magic telenovela.

On the show, his character struggled with reading and memory because his mother (Zodwa) drank while she was pregnant with him.

He first appeared in the premiere in March 2020 and won the award for Outstanding Newcomer at the fourth Royalty Soapie Awards.

He was then promoted to starring cast in the second season of Gomora the following year.

Teddy eventually graduated from Gomora High and landed his dream job as a sportscaster at Gomora Radio Station.

He also dated his best friend, Tshiamo (Lerato Mokoka) who worked with him at the station as a news reporter.
