King of Amapiano Kabza De Small, real name Kabelo Motha, has cancelled his performance at the Bom Extravaganza All Black Edition on Freedom Day in Soshanguve due to safety concerns.
The decision comes after the murder of popular Tshwane MC and DJ Peter “Mashata” Mabuse in Soshanguve.

Confirmed reports have it that his management has since reached out to organisers to repay the total amount that Kabza De Small was paid for the show.
Part of the statement reads, “After long conversations with our client Kabza De Small (Kabelo Motha), we have reached a conclusion to cancel the event happening this weekend due to the sudden events that occurred this past weekend, due to the safety of our client.”
Kabza De Small’s management added, “But we would like to consider a full refund, as we don’t know when the client (Kabza) will be comfortable to travel to Soshanguve. We apologise for any inconvenience caused by this and hope this will be amicable.”
NEW SURPRISE ARTIST ON THE CARDS
The organisers reportedly offered to beef up his security, but nothing materialised. After failing to secure Kabza De Small, the organisers apologised to patrons. “We, therefore, would like to sincerely apologise to all our patrons and Kabza supporters for the inconvenience this may have caused,” said the organisers.
However, the event organisers have since confirmed that a surprise artist will take over Kabza De Small’s slot.
Crime has been on the rise in Soshanguve. Last week, DJ Mashata died after a hit. The South African Police Service has been carrying out imbizos to address crime, especially in Soshanguve’s Jukulyn area.
Deputy Police Minister Cassel Mathale said the government is considering recalling retired detectives. These detectives will assist in investigating over 300 active crimes committed in Soshanguve.
