The popular Scandal! and Muvhango actress Joyce Skefu had a mild stroke which landed her in hospital.
JOYCE SKEFU: ‘IT WAS TRAUMATISING’
TshisaLIVE reports that the legendary actress Joyce Skefu suffered a stroke in March 2022. Skefu recently took to her Instagram to give a health update to her followers.
“Gooday my beautiful friends, I thought I should share a bit about my recovery journey. Thank you for your kindness, love and support, Love wins,” she wrote.
The fan-favourite actress says she woke at 4am needing to go to the toilet and found she “couldn’t walk” as she couldn’t get herself out of bed.
She says she threw herself on to the floor and watched half her body “die slowly”. Skefu adds that it was traumatising as she crawled on one side to go to the toilet.
The Scandal! star says God fought for her. He kept lifting the standard against stroke.
“Stroke is cruel, is mean. I came a long way. First and foremost, there was no sign at all.”
Sowetan reported that well wishes have been pouring in for the legendary actress after she landed in hospital.
The Abomama actress also revealed in 2023 that she misses work after recovering from stroke

Joyce Skefu is popularly known for playing the role of Fumane in Mzansi Magic’s Abomama seasons one and two.
She also appeared in SABC2’s drama Lithapo season one as Moipone. The actress got her big break in acting as Doris Mokoena in Muvhango.
Skefu is also known for playing Maletsatsi Khumalo in e.tv’s Scandal!.
