A Johannesburg nightclub – D48 – has honoured its vow to pay the booze bills of all Kaizer Chiefs patrons, after the club won the Nedbank Cup title over the weekend.
Amakhosi beat fierce rivals Orlando Pirates 2-1 to win the coveted title, their first trophy in a decade.
KAIZER CHIEFS SUPPORTERS GET FREE BOOZE
Ahead of the clash between Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates, popular groove D48 in Midrand, promised to pay the bills of all Amakhosi fans should their team win.
The club promo indicated that the cash refund would apply to drinks placed within the first half of the match.
After the final whistle blew, club waitresses were seen handing out stacks of cash to Chiefs supporters who had likely consumed a large quantity of boozy beverages.
“Free bills loading…you thought we were joking”, the club posted on its social media accounts.
CELEBRATIONS AROUND THE COUNTRY
Meanwhile, Kaizer Chiefs supporters kicked off celebrations around the country.
In Durban, where the team played at Moes Mabhida Stadium, fans took to partying in the streets.
The official club has posted numerous clips of the “Khosi Nation” celebrations on their X accounts.
