Late South African singer Zahara, real name Bulelwa Mkutukana will be celebrated on November 9 as it will be her first heavenly birthday.
However, this celebration has sparked division among family and lovers of the late South African singer.
On December 11, 2023, Zahara passed away in the hospital after weeks of battling illness.
According to Zimoja, friends of the late star want to mark her 37th birthday in Johannesburg, where she spent most of her music career.
However, the family plans to host the celebration in Eastern Cape, her hometown.
Zahara’s mother, Nokhaya Mkutukanais not happy with the friends for their choice, as she expects them to honour her daughter and the family.

“If her friends really cared for her, they would join the family’s celebration,” she said.
In Johannesburg, on the same day, 9 November, the “Zahara Army,’ who is her fanbase, a group of youth who lived and worked close to her, will be hosting a celebration at the Decalabash Hotel in Randfontein.
Lisa Gwengxeka, who was the Loliwe singer’s assistant said, “She loved celebrating her birthday, and every year, we got together to celebrate, and we will do that in true Zahara style. But not everyone will have the financial capacity to get to East London. So, we are planning something intimate for her in Joburg. I have communicated this with her family.
