According to reports, legendary actor Sello Maake KaNcube and his wife, Pearl Mbewe, have filed for divorce. The former Queen actor and his three-year marriage split up last year, according to Sunday World.
The newspaper was informed by a source that after their 2021 marriage ended in arguments over Maake kaNcube’s alleged ex-partner, the actor chased Mbewe from their Dube, Soweto, home.
Maake KaNcube was allegedly flirting with Cynthia Hlahla, better known by her stage name Lacoste, who is said to be the previous lover.According to Sunday World, during their text exchanges, the Skeem Saam star asked about Hlahla’s relationship status. He allegedly also confessed to her that she was on his mind all the time. Hlahla supposedly did not believe his story, though.
“She said he was just pretending to love her, saying she knew he was in love with Pearl. She even asked him to be honest with her and tell her if he wants her to help him leave South Africa for the US instead of lying about having the hots for her,” said the source.
The actor apparently tried to reignite their romance by sending a delegation to pay Maake KaNcube’s wife the remaining lobolo after she moved out, but Mbewe turned him down.The actor approached Swanepoel van Zyl Attorneys to assist him in filing for divorce after failing to get Mbewe back. The firm allegedly demanded payment in full up front (R25,000).
