Seasoned actor, Vusi Kunene has left etv’s House of Zwide where he plays Funani Zwide, a fashion mogul.
A source tells Drum that the actor, whose career spans more than five decades, has decided to part ways with the show, because he’s taking a hiatus from showbiz. “He’s taking a break from acting, because he feels it’s time to take a break from the small screen. He wants to take things easy and relax, because he’s not getting any younger,” the source says.

The actor, who became a household name when he graced Generations as Jack Mabaso, is set to exit the show this month when his character is written off. The source asserts: “He’s already left the show but is still appearing on screen until next week when he will suddenly move to another province, which will be the end of his character.”

At this stage, there haven’t been any discussions about his replacement, but he likely won’t he replaced. “There haven’t been any talks of a possible replacement for him, and he most likely won’t be replaced, leaving yhe door open for him to return at a later stage should he wish to do so,” the source reveals.

Etv confirmed the star’s departure, saying he had finished shooting last month already. “He’s already done with shooting the last of his story, so he’ll finally be off screen in mid July,” the channel confirmed.
