Thomas Gumede teaches baby mama Zola Nombona how to ride a bicycle.

Zola Nombona was born on March 10, 1992, in Mthatha, Eastern Cape, South Africa. She attended Victoria Girls’ High School in Grahamstown before pursuing higher education in dramatic arts.


 


 

 

 

The actress graduated with honours from the University of the Witwatersrand.

Acting Career

Zola acting career took off with her role as Shado in the SABC 1 drama series Intersexions in 2013. This marked her first major acting role.

She then starred as Roxanne in the e. tv drama Zbondiwe in 2015 and played Monde on Lockdown, a television drama series set in a fictional high-security prison for women.

In 2023, Zola was cast as the lead actor in Mzansi Magic’s new telenovela My Brother’s Keeper opposite Wiseman Mncube and Lindani Nkosi.

Zola is married to Thomas Gumede, and together they have a child named Cebelihle. She has a younger sister named Unathi Nombona.

Recognition and Awards
Nombona is a six-time SAFTA nominee, reflecting her talent and dedication to her craft.

She won Best Actress in a Made for TV Movie (Ingoma) at the 2016 SAFTA Golden Horn and has received several nominations for her performances in Zbondiwe and Lockdown.

Apart from her acting career, Zola has branched out into business and brand collaboration. She founded LXVE, an online shop for luxurious shapewear for women.
