Sol Phenduka shows off his new car

Celebrated podcaster and radio host Sol Phenduka is topping trends after purchasing a new car barely a month after getting involved in an accident in Johannesburg.

Photos and videos of the Kaya 959 radio presenter receiving his car at a local car dealership have since gone viral. The photos were first shared on X, formerly Twitter.

Sol Phenduka posted, “Shout out to Kia Edenvale man . Great staff, brilliant service. A great family.”

He was undoubtedly all smiles as he received his new wheels. However, the media has yet to connect the dots about the car’s model and price tag.

However, his old tweets praising Kia have resurfaced as Mzansi celebrates his purchase.

On the other hand, fans and fellow celebrities have since flooded social media with congratulatory messages.

Undoubtedly, he joins a host of South African celebrities who recently splurged thousands, if not millions, on their new whips.

Last week, Skomota’s management took to social media to show off his new Mercedes-Benz V-Class.

JOHANNESBURG ACCIDENT
The new purchase comes barely a month after Sol Phenduka was involved in a car crash in Rosebank, Johannesburg.

Last month, photos of the radio host’s wrecked car flooded X, leaving many concerned.

However, when the news of the accident broke, Sol Phenduka assured his fans that he made it out alive and sustained minor injuries to his middle fingers.

Taking to X, he posted, “Thanks for all the messages. I’m 100% okay. Just a swollen middle finger.”

Confirmed reports have it that the accident happened when he was on his way to work. Sol Phenduka joined Kaya 959 in 2022 as a co-presenter on the breakfast show, working alongside colleague Dineo Ranaka.

However, he is now working with celebrated radio host Sizwe Dhlomo, who officially took over the breakfast slot earlier this year after Dineo Ranaka’s dramatic exit.

KAYA 959 HOST OPENS UP ABOUT POST-ACCIDENT TRAUMA
Last week, the Kaya 959’s traffic reporter and co-host opened up about post-accident trauma on Siz The World’s Open line.

The 37-year-old revealed that he was fine but believed that he had developed what he believes is post-accident trauma. He has it that he is now hyper-sensitive on the road.

Sol Phenduka said, “I am doing fine. The airbag hurt one of my fingers. I am not afraid to drive, but I have developed a bit of road rage, or maybe it is post-accident trauma.

“I am less patient with people because I have realised that negligent driving by other people can lead to an accident. So I am always hyper-alert. Besides that, I am good.”
