Actress Florence Masebe debuted on the SABC1 soapie, Skeem Saam on Wednesday, 15 May as Meikie Maputla.
This comes after actress Harriet Manamela, who played the first Meikie Maputla was placed on sick leave. Masebe has temporarily replaced Manamela.
Viewers of the show took to social media to reflect on Masebe’s performance as the second Meikie.
While some viewers agree the veteran actress has been acing the role for her portrayal of the Maputla matriarch, some wish for Manamela’s return.
Sunday World reports that Manamela has recovered from her hip surgery and is ready to return to the show.
