Siya Kolisi calls out Jesse Kriel: ‘They thought he’s the one

Springbok captain Siya Kolisi has jokingly called out his teammate Jesse Kriel over his ripped physique. However, his comments have gone down in flames after rugby fans teased him instead.

Despite being on “leave,” Siya has made special appearances in recent days, showing support to SA Women’s Rugby, schoolchildren and even visiting underprivileged communities through his charity.

SIYA KOLISI POKES FUN AT JESSE KRIEL
In a behind-the-scenes clip for SuperSport, Siya Kolisi chatted about supporting South Africa’s female rugby squad. The Springbok captain even donned the women’s kit, which he gave his seal of approval.

In another, Siya joked about how the women’s kit showed off his body, particular his thighs, which he referred to as “pumpkins”.

He said to the camera: “It shows off my legs. Everyone thought I had small legs; they thought Jess [Kriel] is the one”.

He added: “Jesse, look here.”

In the comments section, Jesse – known for his muscular, lean frame – laughed off Siya’s comments.

Hilariously, South Africans roasted Siya for his over-confidence.

@digydigzz: “That looks like Jessie’s arm.”

@siviwe: “Haha, you are taking chances!”

@desmond_10: “Jesse is laughing in capital letters.”

@tshibe7: “I’m sorry, my captain. Jesse is the one”.

RETURNING TO THE SHARK TANK
Meanwhile, Siya Kolisi is set to return to his South African club, The Sharks, after cutting short his contract with the French league Racing92.

In a statement issued last month, the Sharks revealed that the Springbok captain would return to his home upon completion of his national team duties.

This likely refers to the upcoming November test series, where SA will play England, Scotland, and Wales.

Interestingly, the news came just months after overseas club boss Jacky Lorenzetti described Siya Kolisi as “out of shape” and “transparent” this season.

In a media conference just a few days later, Springbok coach Rassie Erasmus seemingly clapped back at Lorenzetti’s remarks, stating: “Siya will be captain, he will be six flank, and Siya has no injury. Siya is not fat, and Siya is not transparent.”
