‘Sibongile & The Dlaminis’ fans beg Luyanda Zwane to return

Newcomer Nsikelelo Mthiyane has failed to impress Sibongile & The Dlaminis viewers as Sibongile Mbambo.

Viewers of Sibongile & Dlaminis recently took to social media to ask the show to beg Luyanda Zwane to return as they are unhappy with Nsikelelo Mthiyane.


 

A fan of the show @TPM_mazibuko said on X: “The new Sibongile is emotionless.”

Another viewer @mmakhumoetsile said: “Where do I sign to get Lu back. I’m tired of pretending.”

Zwane got replaced by rising star Nsikelelo Mthiyane, who plays the second Sibongile Mbambo in season two.

The actress confirmed her departure to Zimoja and also revealed that she completed her season one obligation.

“I chose not to renew my contract for season two after completing my season one obligations,” she says.

The fan-favourite actress Luyanda Zwane took to her Instagram on Wednesday, 19 June to reveal why she left Sibongile & The Dlaminis‘.

“Me when they said I’m full of myself and difficult when I didn’t go to the watch party. Meantime I was at the hospital watching the first episode with my grandmother who was dying of cancer.”

“Me when that one old actor told extras that I’m faking being sick on set. When I was on oxygen and could barely breathe.”

Zwane also concluded her Instagram story by asking viewers to stop asking why she is leaving the show.

“Stop asking me why I’m leaving the show, ya’ll don’t know what I went through”.

The Broadcasting Research Council of South Africa (BRCSA) reports that Sibongile & The Dlaminis remains the most-watched TV show on DStv. The telenovela recorded 1.3 million viewers in June and July.
