Shauwn Mkhize’s Royal AM team bus taken away?

Royal AM bus was seen being towed earlier this week leaving social media abuzz. The video has since thrust popular Mzansi businesswoman, reality TV star, and media personality, Shauwn Mkhize aka MaMkhize into the top trends, and it has undoubtedly been making rounds on the internet since it dropped.

The video has undoubtedly gained thousands of comments and reactions since it dropped on X, formerly Twitter.

However, ZANewsFlash captioned the now-viral video, “Ewu, kwaze kwanzima nge bus lika MaMkhize.” Against the post, Mzansi quickly flooded social with their two cents. Many were quick to implicate her South African Revenue (Sars) woes into the mix.
One X user asked if the bus was part of movable assets that Sars was seeking to seize. Reports have it that the MaMkhize’s Royal AM team bus broke down a year ago.

“I believe that this is the same bus that has been parked at a panel beating shop behind Supreme Motor Spares in Isipingo for more than a year,” said another X user. Another X user commented, “Everything is falling apart. Voters have closed down all her tender taps. Now she’s on her own.”

No doubt, this undoubtedly downplayed reports that the Sars had seized the bus amid her tax woes.

Reports have it that “there was a standoff between the two security companies when the Sars tried to seize some of her assets.” However, curators visited MaMkhize’s properties in Sandton and Durban but could not gain access.

The taxman is after her impressive fleet to recoup an R37 million debt. A few weeks ago, ZiMoja reported that Sars applied for an execution order at the Pietermaritzburg High Court against Royal AM owner MaMkhize.

The celebrated businesswoman reportedly owes Sars over R37 million in unpaid taxes. This is not MaMkhize’s first involvement in tax woes with Sars. However, reports suggest that MaMkhize might lose 13 cars as the taxman tries to recoup unpaid taxes. Rumour mill has it that a trust also oversees Royal AM assets.

Last year, the celebrated business mogul had a debt of R12.7 million, but it ballooned in a day to R37 million. Reports have it that the debt ballooned after MaMkhize’s Royal AM was ordered to pay former Kaizer Chiefs star Samir Nurkovic’s two-year contract in full.

Against the judgement, the High Court of South Africa ordered MaMkhize to cough up her debts to Sars. However, the High Court also directed the court sheriff “to attach and remove the movable property of the Royal AM.” No doubt MaMkhize’s tax woes count to haunt her.
