Celebrated rapper and reality TV host Jub Jub is making headlines after he dumped the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) for uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party.
MK Party is a left-wing populist South African political party founded in December 2023.
JUB JUB JOINS MK PARTY
The party became popular when former President Jacob Zuma revealed that he would not vote for the ANC but the MK Party.
The former President said, “I cannot and will not” campaign for the ANC of current president Cyril Ramaphosa.
However, after winning big in the last elections, it has since been lauded as the third-biggest party in South Africa.
Against the backdrop of its big wins, several politicians and celebrities have joined the party. Several big names have joined the MK Party, including Floyd Shivambu.
He joined Jacob Zuma’s MK Party on 15 August 2024 after dumping the EFF in the eleventh hour.
It was a shocker since he was the Deputy President and lieutenant commander-in-chief of the EEF, its Parliamentary Chief Whip in the South African Parliament.
However, since leaving EFF in August, several members have left the party for the uMkhonto weSizwe. After all, it seems it’s not only politicians switching the floor to the MK Party but celebrities, too.
Rumour mill has it that Jub Jub is the latest celebrity to join the political party. The celebrated star is making headlines after his photos with Jacob Zuma went viral.
Jub Jub was wearing MK Party’s tracksuit in the now-viral photos. No doubt, the gesture alone has convinced many that he has dumped EFF, which he has supported over the years.
However, little is known about when the photo was taken. Since dropping online, the photos have gained thousands of comments and reactions.
