Phindile Gwala to co-host ‘Amaqhawe: Our Heroes’

Actress Phindile Gwala has landed a TV hosting gig, Amaqhawe: Our Heroes alongside former Big Brother Mzansi star, Luthando “BU” Mthembu.

The former Muvhango actress Phindile Gwala tells IOL that she’s honoured to be part of Amaqhawe: Our Heroes.

“I am truly honoured to be a part of ‘Amaqhawe – Our Heroes’. This show provides a platform to celebrate the diverse and impactful stories that shape our nation, and I am looking forward to sharing these inspiring narratives with audiences across South Africa,” said Gwala.

Her co-host BU Mthembu took to his Instagram to praise the actress and TV personality.

“I’ve worked with countless talented individuals but never have I with such a bright soul. I am grateful to have had the chance to share the same spotlight as you queen. Keep shining bright like the diamond that you are,” says Mthembu.

The publication adds that Gwala will play a pivotal role in uncovering and sharing the extraordinary stories of South Africans who have made notable contributions across various sectors.

BACKGROUND OF ‘AMAQHAWE: OUR HEROES’
Amaqhawe: Our Heroes highlights the stories of unsung heroes across various fields, according to Devi Discourse.

The series also aims to inspire others by showcasing their contributions to South African society.

The show airs on Saturdays on DStv channel 169, Zee Zonke at 5.00pm and repeats on Sundays.

The channel launched in September 2023 when it introduced Bollywood to an isiZulu audience.
