‘Pathetic’: Miss SA finalist Chidimma claps back on ‘Nigerian hate’

Miss SA finalist Chidimma Adetshina has threatened to deactivate her X account after responding to “bullies” who targeted her over her Nigerian parentage.

The 23-year-old model and mother-of-one has come under fire after it was revealed that both her parents had roots in other African countries.

Chidimma, however, is a South African citizen as she was born and raised in Johannesburg.

CHIDIMMA CLAPS BACK AT CYBERBULLIES
Since revealing that her father is Nigerian and her mother is a South African with Mozambican roots, Chidimma Adetshina has been a trending topic on social media.

The model and LLB student has been the victim of xenophobic comments from angry pageant fans who believe she should not win or represent Miss SA.

On her official X account, Chidimma responded to the social media storm: “The hate on Nigerians is so pathetic and uncalled for. The insults I receive on this app are just too much. Africans should live in peace and unity!”

When one tweep accused her of impersonating her South African heritage, she clapped back, “Shame on you.”

She also retweeted a post that read: “If an American born of South African parents went on to win Miss USA, South Africans would celebrate and boast. But when a girl born of Nigerian parents enter Miss SA, it’s a problem. The Xenophobia in SA is disgusting.”

She added of her critics: “Bullies! Deactivating my account”.

FAUX OUTRAGE?
Speaking to The South African, the Miss SA organisation confirmed that Chidimma Adetshina had met all the necessary requirements to participate in the pageant.

It said in a statement: “All documentation provided by the entrants is screened and vetted.
