Late Kwaito star Mampintsha-born Mandla Maphumulo’s sister Pinky Gumede is making headlines after she threatened to drag Moja Love to court if she did not get what she deserves.
Pinky Gumede demands payment for a new reality show that will air on Moja Love in March.
MAMPINTSHA’S FAMILY ‘THREATENS’ MOJA LOVE WITH LEGAL ACTION
The new reality show Wena Wodumo is produced by celebrated actors and TV producers Thomas Gumede and Lungile Radu under their company Parental Advisory Production.
It dives into the life of the late Mampintsha and his family and is set to premiere on 29 March on channel 157.
However, against the news of the show’s premiere, Pinky Gumede warned, “Hell will break loose if this show is aired without my payment.”
She alleges that she hasn’t been paid and that they were once mistreated in the other seasons by the same production company.
Pink Gumede said that Thomas once approached them, asking to shoot uThando Lodumo, but they were never paid as agreed. Now, according to reports, she intends to fight the new show.
“We shot two seasons with them, and we were badly paid. Even then, we were ill-treated, and we had to fight for our money,” she alleged.
However, after Mampintsha died, Pinky Gumede has it that she was approached by the production company for season 3.
Against the request, the family reportedly turned down the offer but agreed after being assured by the production company.
Pinky Gumede revealed to the media, “Again, we refused. We didn’t want to be exploited, and we just didn’t want to be part of it anymore.
“Besides, there was already too much drama happening, so we wanted out of it.”
She added, “But again, Thomas begged us, he apologised and even promised to do things right. He said we must think of Mampintsha’s child.
“And he said if we refuse to shoot, we might jeopardise the child’s future. Based on this, we agreed but never signed any documents.”
NO SIGNED CONTRACT?
Gumede has it that she was not given the contracts, and whenever she wanted to discuss them, she was told to ‘relax.’
She claims she got the shock of her life when she came across a trailer for the show online. However, Pinky Gumede said she is also after her mother’s money, which was unpaid.
“But I will not stop demanding money. I also want my mother’s money; if they fail to pay me, I’ll sue them,” said Pinky.
WHAT DO YOU THINK OF GUMEDE’S ACCUSATIONS?
