From R595 to R60: Boity heavily attacked over the fall of her perfume business

Popular Mzansi rapper, reality TV star, presenter, actress, and businesswoman Boity Thulo has responded after a shocking price drop on her perfume line.The Wuz Dat? hitmaker addressed questions regarding her failed business after gossip blog MaphephaNdaba revealed that her Boity Pink Sapphire Eau de parfum now retails for R60 from a whopping R595.The fragrance line was launched in 2020 in collaboration with Halo Heritage. At the time, a 100ml bottle retailed for about R1 495.Responding on Instagram, Boity admitted that the business did not go as she had hoped.

“The business failed. Very disappointing. Life happened. But we try again and keep moving forward,” she wrote.After launching her perfume line, Boity launched her haircare range in the same year.

According to The StartUp Mag, she said at the time: “Now more than ever, black African women have started embracing their natural hair. But it didn’t come without struggle. Falling in love with our natural hair is a journey for many black women. Being a brand designed for powerful, modern African queens, a collaboration with Halo Heritage just felt like a natural fit.”

Kudzai Violet Gwara, popularly known as KVG, is a Zimbabwean radio personality, television host, and event host, as well as a brand influencer.She presents the 326 Express show on Star FM Zimbabwe.

KVG was born on July 10, 1990, in Harare, Zimbabwe, where she grew up. She joined one of the biggest urban radio stations in Zimbabwe at the age of 21, becoming the youngest radio presenter in Zimbabwe at the time.


 

 

 

She started presenting the 326 Express show with former co-host Phatisani Sibanda, and the show is rated as one of the most listened-to drive-time shows on Zimbabwean radio.In 2016 KVG hosted the 326 Express from United Kingdom which became the first live broadcast from UK in the history of Zimbabwean radio.[13] KVG is the producer of 326 Express show. She is also a presenter for Coca-Cola On The Beat show on ZBC TV.
