Urgent help needed for gospel star Solly Moholo

The Limpopo Artists Movement (LAM) is pleading for help. They’re asking the public to help pay for the medical bills of gospel singer Solly Moholo.

Mphoza Mashabela, LAM provincial chairman, said it will be great to see those who love the musician help with his medical bills.

He also told Daily Sun that they’ll work with the musician’s family to ensure he gets all the money needed for his surgery.

Mphoza mentioned that they plan to meet Sport, Arts and Culture Minister Gayton this month to discuss contributions to Solly’s needs.
The award-winning musician, whose real name is Solomon Majafela Molokoane, is in hospital after suffering a stroke in August while on a promotional tour in Botswana for his forthcoming album, which was scheduled for release this month.

The Thaba ya Sione hitmaker needs a donation of R700 000.

“We’re requesting the minister of sport, arts and culture to assist the singer’s family. We are just waiting for his response to our appointment,” Mphoza said.

He said that they’re calling on the government to assist the legendary singer while he’s still alive.

“The Limpopo Artists Movement is seeking urgent support for Solly Moholo’s medical expenses. LAM is reaching out to the community, fans, and supporters of the arts with a heartfelt appeal for urgent financial assistance. Our beloved colleague and renowned artist, Solly Moholo, has recently suffered a severe injury while performing in Botswana.

“The injury has left him in need of immediate and extensive medical treatment, which has placed a significant financial burden on him and his family. Solly Moholo has been a cherished figure in our artistic community, known for his exceptional talent and dedication to his craft,” he said.

Mphoza said that the musician’s contributions to Mzansi’s culture and the music industry have touched countless lives, and now he needs their support in his time of need.

“The medical expenses for Solly Moholo’s treatment are substantial, and as a community deeply committed to supporting our artists, we’re asking for your help. Any financial contribution, no matter the size, will go directly towards covering Solly’s medical bills and aiding in his recovery process.

“We are organizing a fundraising campaign to gather the necessary funds.”

Mphoza extended heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has already reached out and to those who will join in this effort. He said their generosity and solidarity make their artistic community strong and resilient.

Thabang Molokoane told the publication that they’re happy with all the support and love they have been receiving from everyone.

“We are humbled by God’s mercy, the scrupulous care our father receives from the medical staff, the generosity of the community at large, the endless messages from well-wishers, and most importantly, grateful for our father’s life.

“Our father suffered a stroke on 26 August after completing a tour in Botswana. He was rushed to a nearby hospital there, where he was stabilized,” he said.

The family ensured he returned to Mzansi on 28 August, where he was immediately checked in at Netcare Ferncrest Hospital in Rustenburg, North West.

Skeem Saam’s Toby (Sicelo Buthelezi) on the run after stealing money

Toby stole some cash from his mum Evelyn’s bag and fled to Skeem Saam. He couldn’t accept that she had sold their home, and they were now living in a backroom. Evelyn sold her house for R480 000 when she had initially wanted nothing less than R600 000.

This goes to show that people make crazy decisions when they’re desperate. She sold it so she could afford to pay for Toby’s legal fees as he faces a rape charge.
