Orlando Pirates captain Innocent Maela got married to his long-time partner Zenande Funani

Orlando Pirates skipper Innocent Maela has officially sealed the deal with his longtime love, SuperSport presenter and content creator Zenande Funani.

The lovebirds exchanged vows in a beautiful ceremony on Human Rights Day, 21 March, marking a new chapter in their love story.

A beaming Zenande took to Instagram and X to share her excitement ahead of the big day.

“I cannot believe that I am about to marry my best friend! I love and appreciate that man down. He is so excited, and that makes me even more excited. Oh, iSthandwa sami (My love), God has been so good to us,” she gushed.

The heartfelt post was met with an outpouring of love from fans and friends alike.

Potso Aphane: “Awww my babe, congratulations Zen You two look so gorgeous together!”

The couple’s journey has been one to watch. Zenande, ever the proud partner, has often been spotted on the sidelines wearing Orlando Pirates gear in support of her man.

Back in January 2025, she hinted at their upcoming nuptials by sharing a picture in traditional attire, revealing that her fiancé was preparing to pay lobola.

She later posted a photo of herself wearing a ring, stating that she said yes.

“If you’ve got a question of my heart? You got it. YES,” she wrote.

Despite attempts to reach the newlyweds for comment, they were understandably caught up in the bliss of their new beginning.
