Minnie Dlamini’s Ex, Brian Monaisa, Slams Mac G and Sol Phenduka for Disparaging Remarks

Prominent South African plastic surgeon Dr Brian Monaisa, known for his previous relationship with television personality Minnie Dlamini, has spoken out against controversial podcasters Mac G and Sol Phenduka. Monaisa has joined a growing number of South Africans condemning the Podcast and Chill hosts after they made derogatory remarks about Minnie Dlamini during a recent episode.

The backlash stems from comments made by Mac G, who crudely speculated about Minnie Dlamini’s personal hygiene and questioned the reasons behind the instability in her romantic relationships. Many viewers found the remarks deeply disrespectful, offensive, and misogynistic—sparking outrage across social media.

Mac G, known for pushing boundaries on his podcast, suggested that Dlamini might have a “smelly private part,” a comment that was widely slammed as crude, invasive, and degrading. While the podcast has built its popularity on shock-value content and provocative humor, critics say this time the hosts crossed the line.

Dr Monaisa, who has generally maintained a low profile regarding his personal life, took to Instagram Stories to share his thoughts in a now-deleted post. While he didn’t directly name the podcast, his message left little doubt about who he was referring to. In the post, he stood in solidarity with Dlamini and called out the podcast hosts for what he described as cowardly behavior.

Without mincing words, Monaisa wrote that the men behind the podcast were “cowards hiding behind microphones” and condemned the way they demeaned women under the guise of entertainment. Though he later deleted the story, screenshots of the post have circulated widely online, prompting public discussions about media responsibility and the treatment of women in the entertainment industry.

His support for Minnie Dlamini comes amid ongoing public speculation about their recent breakup.
His defense of Minnie comes at a time when the public is still speculating about their recent breakup. Monaisa recently confirmed that his relationship with Dlamini had ended but emphasized that rumors surrounding their split were false and potentially harmful. In a formal statement, Monaisa addressed an article published by a local tabloid, which alleged that the breakup was due to infidelity and other unverified claims. He firmly refuted the story and accused the publication of spreading malicious and unfounded gossip.

“I note with deep dismay that a tabloid newspaper published a malicious article regarding the reasons my relationship with Ms. Minenhle Dlamini ended,” he wrote. “The article, as it acknowledges, is based on rumours and is far from the truth. It is not in my nature to entertain rumours, however, this specific rumour is malicious and has the potential to taint Ms. Dlamini’s reputation in circumstances where the rumours are devoid of any truth.”He went on to clarify the nature of their breakup, stressing that it had nothing to do with cheating or scandal, but was simply a personal decision made between two adults.

“It is for this reason that I deem it necessary to set the record straight,” he continued. “Ms. Dlamini and I had a beautiful relationship which sadly came to an end purely for personal reasons, which had nothing to do with infidelity by either party. While our romantic relationship has come to an end, there remains mutual respect between Ms. Dlamini and me.”Monaisa’s public defense of his ex-girlfriend has drawn praise from many social media users, who commended him for standing up against what they perceive as the increasing normalization of misogyny in digital media spaces. His remarks have added to growing calls for more accountability from podcast hosts and other influencers with large platforms.
