Celebrated Amapiano sensation DJ Maphorisa is making headlines after his star performance at the annual Galaxy 947 Joburg Day 2024.
DJ MAPHORISA THRILLS FANS WITH AN EPIC PERFORMANCE
With a career spanning years, he has quickly become one of the most sought-after stars and has headlined several shows worldwide.
He has undoubtedly wowed many with his unmatched flair and his performances with fellow DJ and producer Kabza De Small.
The two joined forces in 2018 to form Scorpion Kings, which has become one of the biggest duos in the world.
DJ Maphorisa and Kabza De Small were among the main acts of the annual festival, and they did justice. Mzansi has since endorsed their set.
DJ Maphorisa has since flooded his social media feeds with their set, and Mzansi has since given them their flowers.
In one of the now viral clips, he was performing his smash hit with Tyler ICU, Manzi Nte, and the crowd sang along as they enjoyed the set.
The video has gained thousands of comments and reactions since it dropped on X, formerly Twitter.
MAKING HEADLINES
DJ Maphorisa used a cryptic caption that has since set social media abuzz. He captioned the X post ‘bounced back,’ seemingly referring to his recent woes.
He received backlash after snubbing Samthing Soweto, the newly released Amalanga Awafani.
After the song was released Samthing Soweto later posted a broken heart emoji, captioning the track’s cover art that Mas Musiq had posted.
He contributed his vocals to the song, which features Mas and Lawd Weezy, TO StarQuality, and DJ Maphorisa. This is not the first time he has hogged headlines for the wrong reasons.
Mzansi was undoubtedly quick to criticise DJ Maphorisa, and some fans even reported the track on several streaming platforms.
Against the trends, DJ Maphorisa took to social media to share his side of the story. The muso had an Instagram Live, in which he took a swipe at Samthing Soweto.
However, fans were quick to react to his Instagram Live. Like before, others even called for DJ Maphorisa’s cancellation. Despite the backlash, the star was added to the song’s credits.
MZANSI REACTS
On social media, fans were undoubtedly more than convinced that the star was ‘uncancelable.’ Here are some comments that flooded X against the now-viral video.

Another user, @AMG_Owner, added, “Bro, they only hate you on Twitter. TF is this crowd? Ehhhh.”
