“My goal for this year is to have 100 employees. I’m currently on 32!!! Building my second franchise in Vosloorus. I build salons from scratch, I own the properties, so my employees earn a lot.

Lady Du said she hires staff based on their character and the skills.

I’ve trained 8 of my employees, if I were to post their before and after pictures you’d be shocked. I learned that to have loyal people in your business is to look after them financially, mentally, emotionally!!!!”

The uZuma Yi Star singer also shared that she takes good care of her staff.

“I pay transport for my staff, buy them gifts on their birthdays, we have mental health meetings, donations for funerals should one lose someone, look after each other. We’ve created a healthy working environment. I wish it for every business!!!! Look after your staff, trust me you’ll never work a day in your life!!! They’ll do anything you require because they feel safe.”

MINI VACATION FOR HER STAFF
Last year, the musician took to social media to celebrate becoming the owner of her own beauty salon and employing 15 people.

Just months later, Lady Du shared a heartwarming post about taking those staff members on a vacation to the beach to celebrate a successful year.

“I took my staff to Durban for a vacation, I didn’t know that we would heal each other, we spent soooo much time with each other, we forgot we had phones. For the first time in months I totally forgot about the world and experienced a different type of love. I invited my siblings too.

“This year I am showing up for people that showed up for me. To actually be able to take my whole staff for a holiday, our salon is only 3 months old!!!! Imagine the things we’d be doing in a year.

“To company owners, know what your people go through to help you achieve your dreams. I cried the whole trip, but I’m blessed to have such a strong team. I have a new family. I thank each and every person that supports our salon you are not only changing my life but the lives of the people that work there!!!!! Siyabonga from @wawalabeauty1,” she wrote.
