Popular Mzansi actress, and reality TV star, Khanyi Mbau has shocked her Instagram followers with a drastic new look, courtesy of what she claims are “facial threads.”
The social media influencer and reality TV star – who lives in Dubai with boyfriend Kudzai Mushonga – is known for her love of plastic surgery and skin bleaching
“Always wanted to get threads done, and finally @dr.licaecaterina agreed to booking me in for a lux experience at the Aeon clinic at the Atlantis the Royal,” she captioned an IG post.
In the days that have followed, the mother-of-one has shown off a visibly different face. In fact, whether by filter or a cosmetic procedure, the 38-year-old looked like a woman half her age.
And fans in the comment section were quick to notice…
“Whatever you are using to look this young, I need it.”
“Haibo, you look 21 and beautiful.”
“And we are aging backwards? Such a beauty”.
According to South African aesthetic consultant Nerina Wilson & Associates, a facial thread or thread lift – like the one done by Khanyi Mbau – is a noninvasive facelift.
The procedure has several benefits, including:
Quick and no downtime and minimal risks
Relatively pain-free
Maximum results (tightened cheeks, eyes, brows, jowls, and neck) with no scar lines
Results that last up to three years.
The procedure can cost up to R30 000
The actress and socialite is an open book about her beauty enhancements.
Khanyi Mbau’s aesthetic work includes:
Breast augmentation
Nose job
Liposuction and body sculpting
Fillers and botox
Skin lightening
Veneers and surgery to “push back” her gums.
Hair implants
In an interview with Anele Mdoda on the SABC 3 show Real Talk, Khanyi Mbau claimed that she was unfazed by criticism of work done on her face and body or claims that she was “un-African.”
She said: “I am not shy of being black. I am very black, but I am the free black. The liberated and free black. The one who, if I want to do something, I do it, regardless of what people say.”
