Kefilwe Mabote alleges abuse at the hands of her ex-husband

Fashion influencer Kefilwe Mabote, also known as Kefiboo, has detailed several incidences of abuse allegedly at the hands of her ex-husband.

According to Sunday World, allegations about Kefilwe being a victim of gender-based violence were revealed on Monday, 20 May, when she appeared in the Randburg Magistrate’s Court. The award-winning lifestyle digital content creator and her former husband were in court over the custody of their child.

KEFILWE MABOTE CLAIMS HER EX-HUSBAND ALMOST KILLED HER
Following their separation, Kefilwe reportedly obtained a protection order against her ex – who cannot be named for legal reasons.

“Our first argument led him to strangle my neck behind the wall (sic),” she alleged in the protection order.

The socialite, who reportedly fought back in self-defence, said her ex-husband assaulted her after she did not disclose that she was being stalked by criminals.

“He decided to beat me up because when I got home, I did not call him,” she said in the order.

In another incident, Kefilwe alleged that her former partner almost killed using a screwdriver.

“He almost killed me with a screwdriver to give him his and my car and go away without any of my personal belongings (sic),” read her submission for the court order.

During another instance, when he allegedly physically attacked her, she said she suffered injuries on her chest area.

“I attended my doctor at the time who examined me, and his report confirmed that I indeed did suffer injuries to my chest (sic),” Mabote stated in the affidavit.

THE SOCIALITE DENIES THE COUNTER CLAIMS
When the influencer’s ex countered the claims, she denied them, saying he copied and pasted her allegations. The man had alleged that Kefilwe tried to poison him and also hired hitmen to kill him.

“It is evident from the terms of the protection order that I obtained that I had requested the applicant refrain from poisoning me or instructing anyone to assist him to murder me.

“This illustrates the fact that he simply copied and pasted my allegations directly onto his application.

“As a direct result of both the ongoing emotional, physical, and mental abuse I suffered at the hands of the applicant, I attempted to take my own life,” she stated in the papers.

According to a letter from Wonderful Women Ministries chairperson, Nicole Campos Real, which is attached to the court papers, Kefilwe is their guest as she has “no other accommodation.”

FAKE MARRIAGE?
Kefilwe, who is also an estate agent, has kept a low profile since allegations she faked her lobolo negotiations last year.

In February this year, ZiMoja reported that the luxury influencer’s lobolo photoshoot was all for content.

“There was never a marriage, that entire thing was staged for content. The poor guy nearly lost one of his wives after she posted those pictures, the wife thought he secretly married her without her knowledge,” a source told the publication.
