Kaizer Chiefs legend Itumeleng Khune is topping trends after his video at Orlando Stadium made rounds online.
The Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper was one of the notable stars who attended the MTN8 semifinal showdown between Orlando Pirates and Cape Town City.
ITUMELENG KHUNE REFUSES TO PERFORM ORLANDO PIRATES’ ICONIC GESTURE
He received a warm welcome from Pirates fans, and he took to social media to share some of the priceless moments at Orlando Stadium.
Cape Town City was humbled 3-1 on aggregate, and Orlando Pirates will face Stellenbosch FC in the final.
However, in a now-viral video that has since thrust Khune into the top trends, the star was seen refusing to do the Orlando Pirates signature sign after fans wanted him to show love to the Buccaneers.
Instead, the Kaizer Chiefs legend made the famous Kaizer Chiefs’ hand gesture. The clip has undoubtedly been making rounds on social media since it dropped.

Itumeleng Khune was the first to post the video on social media, and Mzansi quickly noted the incident.
Fellow footballers and fans quickly noted the incident, and Itumeleng Khune has since set the record straight.
Sintu Cele commented, “I liked it when the Orlando Pirates fan asked you to do an Orlando Pirates slogan, and you refused and showed a Chiefs slogan.”
However, the Kaizer Chiefs legend, whose future is limbo, commented, “Loyalty.”
Another user poked fun at one of Orlando Pirates’ fans, who was spotted in the mix trying to convince the legend to endorse Orlando Pirates.
The user asked, ‘the Orlando Pirates fan was trying to recruit you, grootman,’ and Itumeleng Khune jokingly said, ‘too much.’
AMAKHOSI FUTURE IN LIMBO
No doubt, the now-viral clip comes barely a few days after it was revealed that the club had offered him an ultimatum.
However, reports have it that the club has since offered Itumeleng Khune a role within the Marketing Department with a reduced salary or the option to leave.
The club has yet to officially confirm the news. However, rumours have since emerged that the star might stay at the club but in a different role within the Marketing Department.
Little is known about Itumeleng Khune’s future as of now. A host of stars have been offered administrative roles with their former clubs but tend to turn them down.
Former Orlando Pirates legend Happy Jele is one of the stars who turned down administrative jobs for the pitch.
POSSIBLE CAPE TOWN CITY MOVE?
However, fans are more than convinced that Itumeleng Khune might be heading to Cape Town City. A few days ago, he posted a photo seemingly at an airport in Cape Town.
He captioned the post, ‘Never announce your next move.’
Barely a few days after posting the photo, he was spotted attending Cape Town City’s game against Orlando Pirates.
