Former Rhythm City actor Sello Motloung bid farewell to his late co-star Darlington Michaels on Sunday, 15 September hours before he passed away.
Michaels who portrayed the flamboyant gangster role of Georgie “Papa G” Zamdela in Isidingo died on Friday, 13 September at 78 years.
SELLO MOTLOUNG: TRIBUTE
The 54-year-old actor Sello Motloung took to his Facebook on Sunday to pay tribute to his Chikin Biznis co-star, Darlington Michaels.
Motloung wrote: “Chikin Biznis, 1997. Starring Fats Bookholoane, Connie Chiume, Nomhle Nkonyeni, Clementine Mosimane, Lindelani Buthelezi…and many memorable names.”
“A young man of his big screen role found himself in a masterclass he never enrolled for. Now, one of the scenes in the script was with Bookholoane and a Thespian par excellence by the name of Darlington Michaels.”
“The three of us had a ball in that scene. Unfortunately, as they say, the scene didn’t make it to the final print, but rather it was left in the editor’s floor. I have both the final cut and the director’s cut.”
“Treasured for obvious reasons. The second time I shared a frame of Bra D, as he was affectionately known, was on the then Isidingo: The Need.“

The family of the Generations and The Wife actor confirms in a statement to TshisaLIVE that he died on Sunday, 15 September.
“We are devastated to inform you of the sudden passing of Ntate Sello Motloung on Sunday 15
September. His family is in shock, and we ask that you give them space at this time. For any enquiries, please contact Artist Connection. Sello will forever be remembered as one of our legends and we will miss him tremendously.”
According to media reports, Motloung collapsed in his home and was rushed to the hospital where he died.
The South African will give an update on Motloung’s cause of death, memorial and funeral services as soon as possible.

Award-winning actress, Katlego Danke took to social media on Monday to pay tribute to The Wife actor Sello Motloung.
“This is proving to be a very difficult year. A year filled with pain and loss. I suppose we also have to remind ourselves of the gift and true celebration of life. Sello … my brother, my friend. I will miss you. I can’t believe I’m saying these words, but RIP,” she said.
Former The Vow actress Nambitha Ben-Mazwi said: “Devastated to say the least. I’m not sure what is happening, but I will cherish the last laughs and fun we had in battle on set last Friday. My General: R.I.P. Sello My condolences to the legend’s family. Kubuhlungu. Uxolo.’”
