“I’m not getting married to Jacob Zuma “: Isiphetho: The Destiny star Gugu Gumede

Fans were shocked when they saw actress Gugu Gumede‘s video in which she says she’s getting married next month.

In the Facebook Reels video, Gugu is seen heartbroken by her mum’s death before her “big day”.

Next month is my wedding and you’re no more,” read the video’s caption, accompanied by the sound of a crying baby.

It further showed the actress posing for a photo with former president Jacob Zuma which raised questions. Many wondered if she’s getting married to him.


 


 

 

 

 

The Isiphetho: The Destiny star said someone was using her identity on a fake Facebook account.

She said she’s not aware of the video, but aware of many social media accounts that use her name.

“I have many accounts that are . People create content using my name. Some are bored, and don’t know how much damage they’re causing. It’s a pity there are still people who believe the accounts are real. These accounts have thousands of followers and it’s unfortunate,” Gugu said.

She said she uses social media to share her work, not personal matters.

“If I’m really getting married, I wouldn’t share the news on social media. I only share my work stuff and promotions. I also share my weight loss journey and give tips and hope to those who wish to lose weight. Social media users who are following us must be careful and differentiate between real and fake”

Her mum died in September 2022 at age 59. This is after she suffered from a stroke that put her in a wheelchair.

Gugu is not the only celeb who has suffered cybercrime.

Many other celebs in music, TV, and radio including DJ Tira, Nothando Ngcobo, Zodwa Wabantu, and others have suffered the same fate
