Singer Bucie, real name Busisiwe Nolubabalo Nqwiliso says she had to be strong for her family when she trended on social media.
BUCIE: ‘MY CHILDREN ARE INVOLVED IN ALL OF THIS’
The Superman hitmaker, Bucie reveals on King David Podcast that she has no idea how her divorce ended up in the papers.
“It’s life of someone who is the public eye. I guess it’s the downside of it,” says the singer.
David says: “You wake up in the morning and you are trending…”
The singer adds: “You take your phone, and you want to read, but you are shaking, and your stomach is turning. You find people saying whatever they want about you, and they don’t care.”
When the podcaster asks her if she’s gotten stronger, she says, she has to be, because of her children.
“At some point you have to be strong for your people. I had to be strong for my mom, I had to be strong for my sisters. I had to be strong for my children, and I had to be strong for myself,” says the singer.
“And I still had to be strong for my soon-to-be ex-husband. Because some of the people’s opinions about him, were not quite correct.”
HUSBAND FILES FOR DIVORCE?
According to Sunday World, Bucie’s Zimbabwean chartered accountant husband, Nhlanhla Nkomo filed for divorce due to irreconcilable differences.
Sources revealed that Nkomo had been complaining about the lack of communication in their marriage.
TshisaLIVE revealed in July that Bucie Nkomo stepped away from the spotlight in 2017 to focus on the artists signed under her record label and spend more time with her family.
The songstress also revealed in a recent Radio 2000 interview that she was the one who planned to go on the hiatus.
“People give my ex-husband way too much credit by saying he made me quit music. He didn’t. It was time for me to take a break. I wanted to start a family, I wanted to have children, and I needed to be there for my children because I know how the industry is.”
“I wanted to be present for my children, and I knew if I continued being in the industry there was no way I was going to be that kind of mother to my children. And it was very necessary,” she said.
