‘Fashion miss’: Makhadzi’s Durban July dress trends

Award-winning singer Makhadzi recently poked fun at her Durban July dress, leaving Mzansi in stitches. No doubt, celebville came out in style and numbers to show off their stylish and not-so-stylish outfits at the annual Hollywood Durban July.

HOLLYWOOD DURBAN JULY: DESIGNERS ‘RIDE THE WAVE’
Some designers understood the theme, while others completely ignored it, with some opting to make a grand entrance in style.

Many celebrities gushed elegantly since they could ride the fashion waves and crash on the seashores. However, Makhadzi has since removed herself from those who made their fashion statement known.

Taking it to social media, Makhadzi threw shade at her dress despite trying to ignore that she was not properly dressed for the event. Despite several misses, Makhadzi’s ride, the wave theme, seemingly received the biggest backlash, and the star singer agreed with Mzansi.

Makhadzi wore a bet-wing blue dress with pearl detailing and accessories for the event. Although the gods beat Makhadzi’s makeup, Netizens couldn’t help but critique the padding in her dress, and neither could she.

MAKHADZI POKES FUN AT DURBAN JULY DRESS
Taking to X, formerly Twitter, the BET Award winner shared a stunning photo of herself posing in her dress, but Mzansi was not convinced by her choice of attire. Like the rest of Mzsnsi, Makhadzi had little to no good things to say about her look.

She made it known that it was not a make-sure and seemingly poked fun at herself as she revealed the reasons behind the botched dress in a now-deleted post.

In a now-deleted post, Makhadzi said she didn’t think she would attend the busiest weekend in South Africa since he was in California, where she had attended the BET Awards.

However, last-minute changes forced her to return to South Africa, leaving her with no option but to make an appearance at the Durban July. Makhadzi made it known that her dress was done at the last minute by a local designer based in Johannesburg.

Makhadzi posted on X, “Beside the unbalanced curves, I see nothing wrong with this dress. But yona is not make sure shem. I tried to console myself but yooo, kunini ngithi yooo.”

Since it was posted on the internet, her post has undoubtedly gained thousands of comments and reactions. Mzansi was quick to flood her social media feeds with their two cents.

Many gave it a thumbs down, making it known that it was bit off for Durban July. However, others praised Makhadzi for coming out clean, leaving many with little room for criticism.
