King Misuzulu kaZwelithini is trending after he paid lobola for his third wife, Masesi Myeni, over the weekend in Jozini.
Photos and videos from the negotiations have gained thousands of comments and reactions they dropped on X, formerly Twitter.
THIRD WIFE FOR KING MISUZULU KAZWELITHINI
The lobola ceremony was held in Makhonyeni Village in Jozini, north of KwaZulu. Reports have it that the King was accompanied by the Zulu monarch’s traditional Prime Minister and Zulu royal house members. Reports have it that King Misuzulu paid 16 beasts and an undisclosed amount of money.
In one of the videos, a truck with cows can be seen making its way to Masesi Myeni’s homestead, with onlookers cheering. During the ceremony, the King also gave Queen Masesi Myeni a jacket with money all over it.
The 41-year-old will be the queen of the eMachobeni royal palace in Ngwavuma, north of KwaZulu-Natal. Over the years, the royal palace did not have a queen, but the late Queen Mantfombi Dlamini used to take of the palace despite being the queen of KwaKhangelamankengane.
During the lobola ceremony, King Misuzulu said, “I thank the Myeni family for working with the Zulu royal house. It was difficult to arrange this ceremony. But we thank God and the Zulu royal senior members, and I thank the Myeni ancestors because we finally agreed that we will be together.”

QUEEN NTOKOZO MAYISELA
When King Misuzulu was about to ascend the Zulu throne, he married Queen Ntokozo Mayisela in 2021. The two were in a long-term relationship before they tied the knot. They met each other in 2009.
The queen is a musician from Newcastle in KwaZulu-Natal. However, apart from being a singer, she is also an International Studies graduate. She studied in Jacksonville, Florida, USA. She has often hogged headlines for the wrong reasons.
QUEEN NOZIZWE MULELA
In 2022, she took her second wife, Queen Nozizwe kaMulela. She is a celebrated banking executive from Eswatini with a law background. King Misuzulu’s wife is the managing director of Eswatini Bank.
King Misuzulu’s second wife holds a Bachelor of Law degree from the University of Lesotho. She did her LLB at Rhodes University. She also has a Master’s in Law degree (LLM) and a Master’s in Business Administration from Stellenbosch University and Stellenbosch Business School, respectively.
Is King Misuzulu following in his father’s footsteps? His father had six wives. However, the six included Queen Sibongile Dlamini, Queen Buhle Mathe, Queen Mantfombi Dlamini, Queen Jayne Ndlovu, Queen Nompumelelo Mchiza and Queen Zola Mafu.
