The actress has been a part of the South African entertainment business for many years, having begun performing at an early age. Here are some highlights from her life.The actress was born on January 4, 1974, in Meadowlands, Soweto, Gauteng, South Africa. She is 49 years old in 2023. The actress grew up with a sibling. Zanele Sangweni is Sindi Dlathu’s twin sister.

Sindi began her acting career when she was a young girl. She auditioned for Ashell Road Fame, a prominent South African talent show, when she was 12 years old. While she did not win, the show got her some attention and gained her mentorship from one of Mahotella Queens’ band members.Three years later, the actress tried her luck once more, this time by competing in a nationwide miming competition. She won the competition after singing a cover of one of Aretha Franklin’s songs. She then auditioned for Mbongeni Ngema’s play Sarafina and was cast in one of the roles.

Later on, in 1997, Sindi was cast as one of the characters in a play titled The Game by Duma Ka Ndlovu. However, the actress’s most prominent role to date came when she was cast to play Nomthandazo ‘Thandaza’ Mokoena in Muvhango.

The initially minor role gradually grew over the years until Thandaza was one of the most significant characters on the show.Her other prominent role is that of Lindiwe Dlamini-Dikana in The River. She and Okielant share two daughters. In a recent appreciation post, the actress mentioned the two. She claimed that her children are extremely kind, loving, and supportive.
