Kayla Swarts, a member of the SA Women’s Hockey team, took to her Instagram stories ahead of the parade.

She shared a snap with fellow athletes, including Flag Bearer Akani Simbine and her brother, track athlete Wayde Van Niekerk.

All were dressed in Team SA’s official Olympic uniform. “Opening ceremony ready,” Swarts wrote, capturing the collective enthusiasm.

Rooskrantz and Simbine were later seen beaming with pride as they floated along the Seine on the team boat.
