Popular Mzansi singer and dancer, Babes Wodumo took to her timeline to remember her late husband Mampintsha, real name Mandla Maphumulo.
To let the world know how much she misses the late Big Nuz member, Babes shared a sweet video of Mampintsha chatting with their kid Hlelolenkosi, better known as Sponge Wodumo. The Gqom artist posted the cute clip on her Instagram feed and it melted many hearts. Even though their relationship was seemingly tumultuous, it’s clear to see that they were deeply in love.
In the video, Mampintsha, who had a bubbly and vibey personality, sits in front of the camera. It seems they were filming new scenes for their reality show, Uthando Lodumo. They opened up about their lives after marriage and becoming parents to Sponge Wodumo in the Showmax show.
As the camera starts rolling, Sponge toddles on set and disturbs his dad. Mampintsha hilariously tells the toddler, “I’ll send you to the shop. You just continue walking.”
In May this year, it was reported that Babes had ended her business relationship with Showmax following her hubby’s death. Mpintsho passed away on 24 December 2022.
ZiMoja reported that the Wololo hitmaker was now working with an unnamed streaming platform to air her reality show. The publication’s sources claimed Babes and Showmax did not have a fallout, but she bagged a bigger money bag elsewhere. At the time, she had already filmed a few episodes with Showmax.
Babes Wodumo and Mampintsha
The publication reported that the KwaZulu-Natal-born star celebrated her 30th birthday without her man on 25 March. Babes said the day brought pain because Mampintsha was no longer there to celebrate it with her.
Mampintsha and Babes used to rock packed stages together, and they cooked hits every time they hit the studio. The lovebirds’ songs were on high rotation on radio and TV stations across the country, and their music also did well on digital streaming platforms.
After Babes posted the clip on her timeline, some fans and celebs flooded her comments section with the candle and red heart emojis. Some expressed that they also miss Mampintsha.
@_laconco commented: “Eyi ukufa nxa. He left a huge gap in the country, I can’t imagine in your life.”
