“It’s always an honour. We have so much respect for the Eastern Cape story, especially for those of us who grew up there. Being Xhosa, it’s a privilege to be part of a narrative that resonates with so many people in the country,” he said.

Reflecting on the emotions of wrapping up the show, Oros acknowledged the bittersweet feeling of moving from one production to another.

“At this point, it’s a mix of pride and gratitude. It’s always difficult to say goodbye, even to a production, but that’s part of our job. Our role is to tell the story, represent it authentically, and then let it serve its purpose for the audience it touches,” he said.

Oros also emphasized the cultural and geographic importance of the series, saying that it holds a special place for many viewers.

“What’s unique about this show is that it’s rooted in the Xhosa culture and speaks to people from the Eastern Cape. It brings back memories for those who might have moved to Joburg or elsewhere for work but still hold their hometown close to their hearts,” he said.

As the telenovela comes to a close, Oros will miss the connections he’s made with his castmates and crew.

“Each production has its own cast and team, and you build real relationships with these people. That’s something I’ll miss,” he concluded.
