Minnie Dlamini was born Minenhle Dlamini on July 7, 1990, in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal Province of South Africa. She is the daughter of Jabulani and Queen Dlamini and has a brother named Khosini Dlamini. She was nicknamed Minnie by her family members when she was young.
She attended Northlands Girls’ High School in Durban, where she was a prefect and a head girl. She was also involved in sports, drama, and choir activities.

Career
While studying at the University of Cape Town, Dlamini auditioned for a presenter role for LIVE, a music show on SABC 1.
She was selected as the new host in June 2010, after making her debut screen appearance while covering the Youth Day and World Cup celebrations shows.
Minnie became an instant sensation among the viewers with her charisma and charm.
Minnie Dlamini later co-hosted Mzansi Insider, a lifestyle show on SABC 1, from 2011 to 2012. The host resigned from the show to pursue a career in acting.
However, she returned to host in 2013, when she switched to sports broadcasting by co-hosting Soccerzone with Thomas Mlambo on SABC 1. She continued to host the show until 2016 when the format was changed by the channel.

Minnie has also co-hosted several prestigious local and international award ceremonies, such as the 14th Metro FM Music Awards in 2014, the 2016 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards in Nigeria, the PSL Awards in 2016 and 2017, and the South African Film and Television Awards in 2017 and 2018.
In addition, Minnie has hosted her own shows, such as Tropika Island of Treasure in 2014, Homeground in 2017, and Spirit of Mzansi in 2018. She has also appeared as a guest on various talk shows, such as The Real Talk with Anele Mdoda in 2017.

Minnie Dlamini made her acting debut in 2010 when she guest-starred as Miranda on Generations, a popular soap opera on SABC 1.
She then landed her first lead role as Zintle Lebone on The Wild, another soap opera on M-Net, from 2011 to 2013. The TV personality played the role of a rebellious daughter of a wealthy family who falls in love with a wildlife veterinarian.

She received critical acclaim for her performance and was nominated for the Best Actress award at the SAFTAs in 2015.
