During his Easter Service sermon, self-proclaimed prophet Shepherd Bushiri recently praised UMkhonto weSizwe secretary-general Floyd Shivambu.
In recent years, Bushiri’s Easter Services have quickly become one of the biggest church events at the Enlightened Christian Gathering (ECG).
SHEPHERD BUSHIRI PRAISES FLOYD SHIVAMBU
A host of celebrities and politicians across the globe have attended annual Easter Services, with Shivambu being one of the bigwigs to attend the recent service in Malawi.
News of his visit has no doubt divided South Africans back home, with several political parties and government officials sharing their opinions.
Some blasted Shivambu for visiting Bushiri’s church amid his legal woes back home.
The man of oath skipped borders in 2020 after he was granted bail after being dragged to the courts for a string of charges, including money laundering.
Bushiri has vowed not to return to South Africa despite an extradition order.
Many hope justice will be served, and Shivambu’s visit paints another picture of his political principles back home.
‘ONE OF THE GREAT AND WONDERFUL MEN I KNOW…’
While many questioned his qualities, Bushiri seemingly praised him during his church service.
He warmly acknowledged him as “One of the great and wonderful men I know who loves Africa and supports African affairs.”
Bushiri added: “Men like Floyd believe in supporting fellow Africans and encouraging those doing well. I’m so happy to have someone like him in South Africa and on the continent.”
However, on Facebook, Bushisri posted, “Thrilled to have met Mr. Floyd Shivambu! His philosophy of black people supporting each other resonated deeply.
”Sadly, some still peddle jealousy and negativity—labelling successful black individuals as ‘corrupt’ and in need of investigation, while praising white individuals as ‘investors.’ That’s not Pan-Africanism; that’s jealousy.”
