UKhozi FM newsreader S’celo “Archbishop” Mbokazi has been described as a hero at his funeral service yesterday, in Ngqofane in Macambini.
All the speakers described him as a humorous and helpful person.
The program was moderated by Zanele LaMbokazi-Nkambule in collaboration with Rev. Enoch Madlala.
Tens of thousands of people were buried in a mass grave near the funeral home of a fellow believer, neighbors, relatives, and friends.
Speaking on behalf of his friends, DJ Sgqemeza, who accompanied Irvin Sihlophe, said he had learned a lot from Mbokazi, including not being arrogant and helpful to people.
“Being full of this kind defines his heart and I want to thank KaMadlala who took care of him to the end. I just got married today because of S’celo, ”said Sgqemeza.
Sihlophe is satisfied that the way he served God was reflected in his dedication to his work by recording services, since it was not his job.
Many sent word of condolence, including IFP President Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi and the Royal Family of KwaZulu-Natal.
Busani Mthembu, one of the SABC’s KwaZulu-Natal executives, said people like S’celo were no longer as respectful as he was, young and old.
“She did a lot of good things, even when he was sick he would come to work. His humility was what kept him from making a name for himself despite his reputation, ”said Mthembu.
He told S’celo’s father that he was proud of his son for doing everything he was taught at home, and told his wife and three children to cut a pattern for him.
A spokeswoman for her siblings, Ms Fikzo Mbokazi, the caretaker, said she would remember her older brother jokingly and do a lot for them as her siblings.
After a full day’s service, Mbokazi is buried in the local cemetery.
