OPINION: ‘She had nothing to loose’ – Madlala’s testimony directly implicates Kelly In Senzo’s death

Senzo Meyiwa was shot dead in October 2014 while visiting his girlfriend Kelly Khumalo’s mother in Vosloorus. Two state witnesses have already testified, and the court is currently hearing testimony from third witness Tumelo Madlala, who was present when the shooting occurred. The case is being heard in the Gauteng High Court, which is presided over by Judge Tshifhiwa Maumela.

Thursday will mark the fifth day of Madlala’s testimony, and during the first four days, he made statements that directly linked the singer to the murder. If the court carefully considers these statements, it may find sufficient evidence to charge Kelly with premeditated murder in the death of Meyiwa, who was born in KwaZulu-Natal.

1. A few minutes before intruders arrived, she was jumpy.

Tumelo Madlala mentioned in his testimony that Kelly was constantly moving around while they were watching soccer at Ma-house, Khumalo’s which should indicate that she was anxious because she knew the time was approaching when the people she had invited would be arriving. As the minutes passed without the assailants showing up, Kelly grew more and more tense.

2. She was the only recipient of Senzo’s life insurance policy.

Everyone is aware that if you are named as a beneficiary on someone else’s life insurance policy, you will stand to gain financially from the payout when that person passes away. When advocate Tshepo Thobane revealed that Kelly was both a signatory and a beneficiary on Meyiwa’s policy, that fact alone should be enough to make her want to get rid of him so she can make a life insurance claim.

3. SHE WAS BETRAYED

Finding out that your sibling is having an affair with the person you love is the most heartbreaking thing that can ever happen. When Kelly realized that the two people she trusted the most were having an affair behind her back, she began planning how to have Meyiwa killed and make it appear as though it was a robbery.

4. MULBARTON REFUSING TO ALLOW THE POLICE IN

According to what Madlala claimed, when the police showed up at Mulbarton, where Kelly and Senzo were staying, she instructed the gate guards not to permit them entry. This raised questions about why she would do so if she had nothing to hide.

5. DRIVER AFTER LOSS OF LOVE

It is always heartbreaking and painful to lose someone you love, especially in the way that Meyiwa passed away. Kelly witnessed everything, and yet she was able to continue driving. How did she find the strength to do this? How did she maintain her focus while driving? She was obviously emotionally ready for that to occur, and when it did, she handled it without hesitation since she was aware of what was going to happen.

The dots are beginning to link very effectively, and once they are all joined, the murderer or murderers will be sent to their rightful place—behind bars.
