Meet “Javas” a policeman from Scandal in real life

Today we getting to know one of the etv Scandal actor who is popular known as “Javas” in our screens.

The actor’s real name is Thapelo Apiri, he was born on the 24th of January 1982, which means the actor is currently 41 years old as of 2023. Apiri was born and bred in Hammanskraal in Gauteng province. The profession of Thapelo Apiri, he is an actor, creative director, director and script writer. Thapelo made his name very big in the South African television industry by playing the role of a Detective Javas on the etv hit soap Scandal.


 

 

 

 

When Thapelo grew up, he wanted to play a professional soccer, he grew up looking out from football stars Benni McCarthy and Ronaldo, the actor was dreaming to work closely with these stars when he grew up.

Thapelo has studied high school level at Makgetsi High School based in Hammanskraal. He then joined the Pubby Molokwana sport academy based in Johannesburg to persuade his dream of becoming a professional football player. The reason that’s made Thapelo quits football, he had an injury and he chose to join arts and entertainment industry.

In 2004 Thapelo Apiri joins the University of Pretoria to study Drama and Dramatics. According to the source, the actor has never imagined himself being an actor. The actor was a good football player because he was invited for trials at Supersports and he made it to the top six out of about 700 people who came for the trials.

Thapelo said he started by going to auditioned for a role of Bongani which was advertised by the Scandal, “At Scandal, I auditioned for Bongani’s part, I think Bongani was this guy that s.e.xually assaulted Dintle in the show, Yeah! I didn’t get that part, then few months later I got a call that I should come through and bring Javas, which was initially just a feature extra,” said Thapelo in one of his exclusive interviews.
