In South Africa we have a number of well known celebrities who accepted their spiritual calling. We cannot begin to name a few without the mentioning of Boity Thulo, Luyanda Potwana and Latoya Makene just to name a few.
These famous faces when they are not on set or attending gigs they often use their gifts to help those who seek spiritual guidance and perform rituals to heal a person.
In 2002 at the age of 18 years well known South African actress Latoya Makhene who happens to be the daughter of veteran singer Blondie Makhene accepted her spiritual calling. A year later in 2003 she graduated as a sangoma and ever since she has been practicing privately. Her calling enables her to heal and provide spiritual advice.
On Friday Latoya Makhene who is famously known for her acting role on SABC 1’s leading drama soapie Generations : The Legacy where she portrays the role of Matshidiso Phakade took to her social media account to make an announcement about her consultation fee and many of her fans and followers were not impressed. According to her post shared on Facebook the Soweto born beauty would go to reveal that she charges R1 000 as part of her consultation fee.
Following her announcement most people on the popular platform were of the views that her fees were a bit expensive and unaffordable. In addition some would go to say that if she charges R1 000 for throwing bones meaning she charges a hefty fee to advice and perform rituals to heal a person. A social media users by the name of Nelly Nkabanhle Nxumalow would go to as far as stating that she probably charges a million rand just to perform rituals to heal a person.
