KZN Youth Radio Station Suffers Another Blow As DJ Warras & His Team Leaves

It is not clear who will fill the gap at Gagasi FM alongside Clarrisa in the evening show as she was left alone by her colleagues who used to work with her on the show.

A rift has broken out between Igagasi FM and the drive show broadcasters DJ Warrants and Nomalanga Shozi and it is not clear who will take over from where they left. These have been in the show since 2019 when they filled the position of Sphe and DJ Naves. A source close to the media revealed that the contracts had not yet been renewed because they spent a lot of time in Johannesburg. The source further said that both contracts were not renewed when it became clear that changes were needed.

The changes were supposed to take place by end of March, but they did not happen. Contracts we’re held for one month but theirs was never mentioned. It is expected that the new broadcaster will be announced on the radio Station and their identity will soon be known. The reliable source also said that the management was under a lot of pressure when it came to them as they were based in Johannesburg, although when they first arrived it was agreed that they would work between the two cities. working in two cities is a bit of a challenge as accommodation is needed unless it’s home to the individual Dj.

During Covid 19 pandemic, they stayed in Durban and it was easy for the management to make decisions. Khulekani Sandhu who is the spokesperson for Igagasi FM said the changes would be announced next week. As it happened the media recently reported that DJ Le Soul had left the station. Another radio presenter leaving the Station is Hope Hlophe who is joining the Metro FM. Recently DJs have been making moves and leaving one station and joining another, one may wonder if it’s greener pasture or if they are doing their things.
