Imbewu Actress Lusanda Addresses Her Future With Imbewu

The talented actress Lusanda Mbane has graced our small screens for the past decade, her memorable roles are roles she portrayed on Scandal and Imbewu. Lusanda made her exit from Scandal and was casted on Imbewu The Seed. She portrays the role of Makhosazane, her acting skills have been widely praised by viewers of the telenovela.

It seems with all things there’s an ending, Makhosazane last scene on Imbewu ended with her being buried. This might indicate that her character has been written off the soapie. This led to Lusanda addressing the confusion from fans as they wondered if this was the end of the road for the actress on Imbewu.

According to the 42 year old she had to say goodbye to Durban as they shot her last scene, she stated that just like everyone else she has no idea whether her character is still alive or not, in the mean time Lusanda is glad to be back home and being with her family after spending most of her time in kwaZulu-Natal.

She emphasised on the importance of staying connected to God, adding that her exit story line was emotionally draining. It seems the actress is in good spirits as she showed gratitude for working with two legends which are Thembi Mtshali and Leleti Khumalo. There seems to be light at the end of the tunnel, she hinted on a new role that recently got, it’s still unclear on where fans should expect to see her next.

“Sinenkinga entsha sha la eMzantsi!!! 🙆🏾‍♀️ People who wait for me to post on any platform about anything and immediately jump in on some:

“Kanti you are not dead?” 👻

“Maharaj is looking for you!” 😳

“Everyone is looking for you there by eMbewini, kanti wena u-busy udla i-soft life la? 🙆🏾‍♀️🤣

Heeeeeeyyyyiiii!!! Nonsense!!! 🙆🏾‍♀️🙆🏾‍♀️🙆🏾‍♀️🤣🤣🤣

So this was Makhosazana’s last scene on Imbewu, after which I packed up from Durban and came back home. No one knows if Makhosazana is dead or not, but we leave it there and let the universe and time decide. In the meantime, I get to explore my next character (which is not yet confirmed) and I get to be fully present for my husband and kids. So yes, it’s a wrap! 🎬.

PS: My exit story line was indeed very taxing, which is why as an Actor it is of utmost importance that you stay connected to the source of your gift. To breathe truth to a story about torture and death, like the one of Makhosazana, while making sure you are not swallowed by such energies of darkness, is an intricate balance that you must get right to preserve your sanity. Pray, phahla, do whatever it is that you do, but your spiritual connection must never break, otherwise you start to break.

Another PS: An Actor’s ID is a number given to identify an Actor in a production. It’s the debatable, but widely accepted indicator of seniority in a production. At Imbewu I was number 3, behind 2 legends, Mam’ Thembi Mtshali and Mam’ Leleti Khumalo. What an honour this was!!! And finally I can officially say…

It’s a picture wrap… NUMBER 3 SIGNING OUT!!!”
