1. Khaya Mthethwa – Season 8
Khaya Mthethwa became the first black person to win Idols South Africa. Khaya went on to have a very successful music career. He also went into radio, getting his big break on Metro FM and now has moved to Kaya FM. After hosting Metro FM’s The Sacred Space with Thami Ngubeni every Sunday for five years, he is now the new host of Kaya FM’s On That Note every Saturday from 9am – 12pm. He has also done well for himself as a songwriter, producer, and TV presenter.

2. Musa Sukwene – Season 9
Musa won idols SA season 9 in 2013. After the release of his self-titled album in 2018, and during the Covid-19 pandemic, Musa took time to work on his music and himself. He also has a farm in Pretoria that keeps him busy. He recently released his 11-track album titled Backroom, featuring Mnqobi Yazo, Beyond Vocal, Kwesta, and Idols season 16 winner Zama Khumalo. Musa is also in the process of registering his NGO, which focuses on people living with dyslexia.

3. Vincent Bones – Season 10
There is not much in the news about Vincent Bones after releasing music in 2015. However, in late 2019 Vincent Bones moved to Michigan in the United States of America. In January 2020, he featured in the song (Mercy the Price of Grace) Wave of Mercy, where he did a duet with Patrick Duncan. According to his Instagram page, he is still living with his family in Michigan and has continued to praise and worship God.
4. Karabo Mogane – Season 11
After winning Idols season 11, Karabo has been releasing music and performing at Soulful Sundays alongside singer Simmy and Zuko SA.
The Nginothando hitmaker tied the knot with his best friend. The two met in 2016.
5. Yanga Sobetwa – Season 14
Yanga has come a long way in her music career since winning Idols Season 14 in 2018. At just 17-years-old, Yanga topped iTunes’ Gospel Charts after the release of her song Promised Land, featuring multi award-winning singer Amanda Black and the Soweto Gospel Choir. Her album went on to debuted at number one on iTunes, a first for an Idols SA winner. Yanga and Paxton Fielies season 13 winner collaborated on a single called ‘Catch Me’ last year.
