Former YOTV presenters who sadly passed away over the past years

Over the past few years, the country has lost a number of talented people in the entertainment industry. Some of the people who sadly passed away, passed away at a very young age.

They are the people we grew to love a be very fond of, people that we fell in love with on our screens.

The country has also lost some former YOTV presenters over the past few years.

Here are some of the people, most of us grew up watching on the children’s programme YOTV, that have sadly passed on.

 

 


1. Akhumzi Jezile

Akhumzi Jezile was a South African tv presenter, actor, director and producer. He joined Sabc1’s YOTV in 2007, as a presenter for one of the shows. He later became the producer of YOTV live. Akhumzi was also a director for many different shows at Urban Brew Studios, including Live Amp, RGB and WTFTumi.

He made his acting debut on Sabc1’s drama series Tempy Pushas in 2015, playing the role of Ngulube.

Akhumzi sadly passed away on the 28th of April 2018, in a tragic car accident in the Eastern Cape. He and four of his friend were traveling to a funeral in the Eastern Cape, when the accident that claimed their lives occurred.

2. Lumko Leqela Johnson

Lumko was a South African tv presenter, radio host and actor. He was best known for hosting SABC1 teen talk show YOTV.

He was also a YOTV producer, Lumko starred on local drama series including INkaba, Mzansi Love and Unmarried season 1.

Lumko sadly passed away after on 14 September 2022, according to reports.
